The French band Big Funk Brass has been spreading its explosive energy for ten years, and this year’s Groove Brno festival will be no exception. Their raw sound combines funk and hip-hop into an original blend that will leave no listener unmoved. Look forward to exciting grooves and intoxicating improvisations.
The leader of the currently eight-member group is trumpeter Alexandre Herichon, who literally wowed the audience at the first after-covide edition of the Brno festival – so much so that the festival director and the leader of the local B-Side band knelt down in front of him. And in “his” band, surrounded by other excellent players, Alexandre is of course even stronger.
With three albums under their belt and collaborations with renowned artists such as Ben l’Oncle Soul, Gaël Faye and A State of Mind, Big Funk Brass always put their all into their shows. It doesn’t matter if they’re playing in a big concert hall or on the street, with a full band or acoustic. It’s always a rush of electrifying energy.
