A trio of virtuoso musicians with an unmistakable sound, Sweden’s Dirty Loops turn pop hits into unique jazz, funk, R&B and rock interpretations. Today they are one of Sweden’s most successful musical groups and a worldwide phenomenon.
Dirty Loops was formed in 2008 by three friends, Aron Mellergård, Jonah Nilsson and Henrik Linder. The project began more or less as an experiment, with the aim of exploring new musical possibilities and going beyond what was considered the norm in classical music jams. After two years of covering popular songs, the band decided to upload a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” to YouTube, hoping to get a gig or two out of it. Thousands of people have already watched other cover videos they’ve posted, which eventually led to a recording contract with Andreas Carlsson and David Foster.
The debut album Loopified was released in 2014 and contained mostly original songs. After its release, Dirty Loops went on a worldwide tour. They now have three albums to their name, including 2022’s Turbo, a collaboration with Cory Wong.
