Freak Power, the epitome of legendary wild energy. The band that burst onto the London club scene in the early nineties, taking the London scene by storm with their unique blend of acid jazz, soul, funk and trip hop, and making their mark on the charts.
It was led by two unique personalities: vocalist and trombonist Ashley Slater and bassist Norman Cook. Under the Freak Power banner, they released two albums together – 1994’s Drive-Thru Booty and 1996’s More of Everything For Everybody – before going their separate ways. The latter went on to become the producer and DJ known worldwide as Fatboy Slim, while the former later resurrected Freak Power, taking the reins as bandleader and, with a host of younger musicians, continuing the flow of this wonderfully crazy and immensely engaging energy.
Brno’s Metro Music Bar has a lot to look forward to – Freak Power will be there on 15th November. And their set will definitely not be without their biggest hit Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out.
